I’m Les Kaye, and I will bring a unique combination of experience to the Helendale School District Board of Trustees:
As a teacher, I offer years of classroom insight.
As a CPA, I provide a strong business and financial background.
As a student advocate and highly involved grandparent, I promise parents that I will remain fully visible, accessible, and responsive.
In 2022, I served as President of the Helendale School District Board of Trustees and was instrumental in developing key programs, including:
The after-school Peer Tutoring program at no cost to parents
The district’s Grant program that secured substantial free funding for programs that directly benefited our students and the district
The acquisition of portable classrooms at the school sites, saving the district over $100,000 in yearly rental expenses
The High School College Program, which allows high school students to earn college-transferable credit as well as high school credit. Students who participate can earn 40 or more transferable college credits at zero cost to parents or students—a program that can result in thousands of dollars in free college credits.
Concrete goals to strengthen education, expand Special Education support, and bring transparency to the Board.
